Basil Sands is an award winning narrator working from Sandman Production Studios nestled between the foot of the coastal Chugach Mountains and the northern limits of the Pacific Ocean in Anchorage Alaska.

After years of performing on stage before large and small audiences Basil started doing voice work for radio and television in 1997. In 2006 he wrote his first novel and rather than publish it via traditional routes decided to post it on the web as a free serialized podcast audiobook. It was a huge hit, which launched a career in narration for major publishers, small publishers, and independent authors alike. He is the voice of USAToday best selling author John Gilstrap’s JONATHAN GRAVE thriller series as well as scores of other audiobooks in many genres.

Basil has a plethora of voices and accents with which he strives to bring the writer’s characters to life in fiction. His resonant tones also bring a direct and authoritative voice to non-fiction and e-learning. He loves to help authors along the path to getting their audiobook out for the world.

He also hosts the annual Alaska Audiobook Narrators Workshop, and does one on one audiobook narration coaching.
